OK I am making Changes-New Info included at the bottom of this post

(This is an amended addition of the original post. Information on making a contribution to VJRI is at the end of this post.)

First of all, I was on Tamar Yonah's show today, July 26, 2005 on Arutz-7. Go to www.israelnationalradio.com and click on Tamar's face. In her box look for the Tuesday, July 26th show, and click on listen or download. The interview was about Gog W. and Gush Katif and is entitled "Where Are We Now on the Road to the End Days?". There was much in our discussion which is not yet on my blogsite.

Secondly, Matzah Nacho is right. I should have let you all know four weeks ago about Vendyl Jones' difficulties. I have not known him for several months, but at least for the last four weeks I should have been on the ball trying to raise money for his project. After speaking with his PR manager in Arkansas, the problem that he is having now boils down to money. An American television network is very interested in doing a "live" broadcast next Spring, but we cannot wait that long. Of course, this network wants to control the timing of everything about Vendyl's dig. We simply cannot let that happen if G-d has placed it in our power to raise the money independently. Even with our efforts it will be in accordance with His Timing, but without our efforts we will have failed in making our hishtadlut to raise the money independently of California media moguls. I do believe that G-d very possibly has placed into our hands the possibility of at least "discovering" the long lost hiding place of Betzalel's vessels. I am going to make some changes in the coming days to this blogsite so that I can start accepting contributions for this most important venture. (This has changed after speaking with Mr. Long.) Any suggestions to my gmail e-mail about how to raise the money or about the names of billionaires or multi-millionaires with whom VJRI should be speaking would be most welcome. VJRI already has a check of $18,000 in hand from one well-known Jewish multi-millionaire. I have given Mr. Long, Vendyl's PR manager, the names of other Jews with bucks who might be interested in making the charitable donation that could help bring the geulah.

In this three week period of time when the Temples were destroyed, is it not appropriate to think about how to do our part in seeing that the Third Temple is rebuilt as quickly as possible. In all this, of course, we should be very careful to refrain from lashon hara and engage in all other mitzvot which spiritually contribute to the success of this G-d willing, heavenly ordained fund-raising campaign.

Please visit www.vendyljones.org.il for VJRI's project description and budget. E-mail me if you want to make an independent contribution. Let us get the ball rolling now sooner rather than later if G-d permits.

(After speaking to Mr. Long, we decided that any contributors should go directly to the above link. Click on donations. Make your tax deductible donation using Paypal either directly from an account or by using a credit card. You can also send a check directly to the following address:

VJRI
PO Box 120366
Arlington, TX 76012-0366

If you use Paypal, you should e-mail him at vjri@bnainoah.net with your Paypal info. so that he can send you a receipt. You should, of course, mention your name and the amount of the contribution. Also in your e-mail you should request that the money be dedicated solely for the upcoming Qumran excavation, either the preliminary excavation for $84,700 or the larger excavation if the treasures of Moses' and Betzalel's Tabernacle are proven to be inside the cave under the 40 stones mentioned in the Copper Scroll. For any questions call VJRI in Arlington at: 972-660-6222 or fax to 972-660-5547.

I will still be making some changes to this blogsite, bli neder, but contributions to VJRI should be made directly to VJRI.

Dov, could you please complete saying what you couldn't finish on Tamar Yonah's show (about Elisha's student's etc - esp. after listener's call).

Thanks in advance.

I edited out the ball rolling over us bit. I am sorry.

I will answer Eldad's question later. Setting up fundraising has tired me out. This requires a lot of legwork and phone calls. In the end it was decided to just directly link to Vendyl's website and to give instructions rather than to set up my own paypal, but I needed to check out all the possibilities. Baruch HaShem for whatever we can do. If anyone else wants to link their websites or blogsites to Vendyl's website, by all means do so. I will try to answer your question before Shabbat, bli neder.

Interesting stuff indeed. I also would like to hear the rest of what you didn't have time to say on the Tamar Yonah show. She kept fast forwarding your conversation skipping over important parts that I as well as many others I'm sure would love to hear. Also, the whole thing stopped at the G8 (G5? soon) and Batzra. Where do things go from here?

Yaacov:

I remember that brief comment. The poster pointed out that there are exactly 14,000 days (2,000 weeks) between Yom Yerushalayim 5728 (28 Iyyar 5728 ) and this R"H (1 Tishrei 5766). I confirmed this with a date calulator He also claimed that many days corresponding to the wandering of the desert.

I would assume this is the Evil report of the spies (9 Av 2450) which corresponds to Moshe Dayan's evil report giving back the land as Vendyl Jones points out in his researcher. This would correspond to the 38+ years of wandering until Yeohshoua crossed the Jordan on 10 Nissan 2488.)

Therefore, we would need to confirm if there are 14,000 days between 9 Av 2450 and 10 Nissan 2488 to see if it parallels the 14,000 days of now.

Correction 28 Iyyar 5727 was Yom Yerushalyim with the liberation of har haybayit.

The 14,000 days is interesting. I wonder if it is Merumaz in this Pasuk:

בְּאַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר-יוֹם בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה בֵּין הָעַרְבַּיִם, תַּעֲשׂוּ אֹתוֹ--בְּמֹעֲדוֹ; כְּכָל-חֻקֹּתָיו וּכְכָל-מִשְׁפָּטָיו, תַּעֲשׂוּ אֹתוֹ

We already know "Bahodesh" can mean Rosh Hashana from "Tik'u Bahodesh Shofar Bakeseh Leyom Hageinu".

Disclaimer: This is not something that I heard from anywhere else - it is just made up by myself (an Am Haaretz).

Please forgive me if I do not get around to answering all these questions before Shabbat. Thank you to blogger Akiva for helping to redesign this blogsite. I know that I need to add more links. I must admit that the 14,000 days has me stumped though. I also had a difficult time with Yaak's Hebrew font. Send me the pasuk and the reference through my gmail e-mail. Thank you

Dov, you wrote in comments to your essay "Everyone, Hold on to your Seat!" the following:

"The last currency of Malchut (Kingdom of) Edom will be the currency of Amalek. The Euro fits all of the requirements to be the currency of Amalek. It is a marketbasket of all of Western Continental Europe's currencies. It unites a united Germany with Italy and the Vatican. We shall see very soon if the new pope is from the same seed. Let us give him two weeks of public statements about the Mideast to make an assessment."

I think it pretty much matches with the following news:

Vatican rejects Israel's protest of Papal omission, says IDF violates law

Eliyahu who has the priveledge of announcing the coming of Mashiach ben David lost the priveledge of announcing the coming of M. ben Yosef when he tried to return the Torah to G-d at Horev. This is why 5 Vavs were removed from Eliyahu's name and given to Yakov, four times in Yirmiyahu and once in VaYikra where the Vav from Malachi's prophesy had already been given. One of the Vavs was used to bring on the Tsunami. Where the tsunami is predicted in Yirmiyahu the last time that Yakov's name appears before it, it is spelled with one of the four vavs in Yirmiyahu. The tsadee, mem, and nun were bent by that judgement. The word Kisufim is spelled with the remaining final letters in their bent state along with the same yud and Vav that are in tsunami. There is a samech there. I am not exactly sure what it means.

I do know that Elisha was far less brash in his prophetic career than Eliyahu, who never failed to do major Kiddush HaShem on a large scale often with fire blazing down from heaven. To the contrary Elisha did most of his prophesies behind closed doors. When he resurrected the dead, unlike when Eliyahu did it, Elisha shut the door. The students of Elisha in Kirvat Dekalia are there to help bring in Mashiach ben Yosef who comes in a natural way. MBD will come, G-d willing with miracles. Somehow his coming is associated with Yericho, Tsoar, or Qumran, perhaps? which are all in the vicinity of each other. This is the short version. Good Shabbat!

In short, Elisha heard the still small voice of redemption that Eliyahu failed to recognize after his slaying of the 400 priests of Ba'al in the Spectacular on Mt. Carmel where a fire came down and burned his water-drenched sacrifice. Eliyahu was depressed that the nation had not done instant teshuvah. He did not realize that he had stirred the souls of thousands in the still small voice inside each and every one of them. Just because everyone did not immediately swear off all of their sins, does not mean that he had not had G-d's intended effect on the multitudes. He had failed to hear the still small voice which Elisha knew how to hear. The scion of Yosef comes for those who are open to this Voice which is calling us to save Gush Katif for the sake of heaven.

Shavuah tov,

I'm confused now. At the meeting last month, Mr Jones said that he intends to start digging 'peep-holes' on the 17th of Tammuz, but now you point us back to the website which makes a request for funds in March to do a another radar survey? Another thing is that his website is advertising a November visit/trip to Egypt&Israel. So I understand that there is no intention of finding the ark this 17th of Tammuz after all?

Shavua Tov to all:

Again thanks to blogger Akiva for helping redesign this website. Quickly, for Josh, the anticipation that finding the vessels by Tisha B'Av could stop Hitnatkut(Disengagement) definitely lead to Vendyl to making his overly optimistic assessment about when he could start his dig. On Arutz 7 he did say that he could dig his bore hole by Tisha B'Av displaying for the entire world the contents of the underground chamber of the Cave of the Column in Qumran. The translator of the the Motzei Shabbat presentation in Kochav Yakov did chime in that perhaps he could get to this stage by the 17th of Tamuz. This would have been possible if the pile of $85,000 had been sitting there with permits from the Israeli National Park Service on the table. Neither was the case. Money still needs to be raised, and although he has three universities on board and far less opposition from the Dept. of Antiquities that he had in the past, after he raises the money, he will still be required to get a permit to start the Ground Penetrating Radar and the Electrical Resistivity Tests that have been advertised on his website since this past Spring. After he demonstrates to the Park Service that the cavern underneath the stones is of significant size or that above ground objects have been detected by these state of the art technologies, he can then get permission for the bore hole. Previous tests from the mid to late 1990s with similar but less advanced equipment have verified a cave underneath the stones. Back then he ran into severe opposition from a head of the Israel Antiquities Dept. who did not like Mr. Jones because of his G-d centered world view. The former head of Antiquities has since been fired for stealing $800,000 and placing it in a Swiss bank acct. This money was supposed to be used to purchase a pomegranate from the Kohen HaGadol's garment from the 2nd Temple period. When it was the shown that the pomegranate was a forgery, the money had disappeared into the former IAAA head's Swiss acct. Now that he is no longer with us (He has also passed away), bli ayin hara, Vendyl has clear sailing with getting his permit from the IAAA (Israel Antiquities). I bring all this up to make a very important point. The timing is not in our hands!! We can only do our efforts. G-d will determine when Vendyl digs, not Vendyl. Vendyl desired that his dig would stop the disengagement. G-d apparently has a different plan. Just as for years the former head of IAAA was a difficult roadblock for further digs and now he no longer is, so will HaShem choose the moment when he can dig. If we can somehow participate by contributing our own funds for this important project, perhaps in the merit of our desire and efforts to uncover the artifacts will their uncovery happen sooner than later. It just seems reasonable if Jews and righteous gentiles raise the money before the date set by a television promotional company for a Spring 2006 "live" dig, the more we may reap the reward for our efforts. Now I will answer in short form a question about my source for the 33rd level of purity being reached in the year 5748, 3300 years after the giving of the Torah. That year ended about one month before Gog Bush Senior was elected president of the United States. This is significant because Rav Shimshon R. Hirsch on his commentary on the Chumash (Numbers 29) when the Torah is discussing the Mussaf offering for the days of Sukkot, comes and tells us the the root of the word Gog is really gag, the Hebrew word for roof. At the end of days when Malchut Edom wants to solidfy his control over his kingdom, he builds a roof over his head to block out the progress of divine providence. He comes to the conclusion like Nimrod who came before him that Heavenly providence is becoming a detriment to his kingdom's further continuance. Unlike Nimrod, though, Esau has used G-d's blessing which is a direct product of Israel's mitzvah observance and the spiritual level of Edom himself to build his this-worldly kingdom to the 33rd level of purity. Beyond that level Esau cannot rule. He was destined to rule until that level because of Yakov's failure to lead Mankind by creating a sanctification of G-d's Name through Yakov's leadership. We lost that priveledge fully by the end of the First Temple Period. At this point we sealed ourselves to follow the path of both divine rebukes, the one in Bechukotai in Leviticus and the one in Ki Tavo in Deuteronomy. Combined the path of rebuke has been long and painful, lasting now over 2400 years. Our sole method of purifying the world has been through our mitzvah observance in our state of exile. Mitzvahs have this power. In addition to building a better internal society, Mitzvahs both purify and reveal hidden sanctity in the world. Yet during this time other nations would continue to rule until Israel has purified the world to such an extant that these nations could no longer rule. Edom is the last of these nations. He can only rule the world until the 33rd level of purity. Yet, since Israel's mitzvah observance threatens to take the world to the next level. He builds a roof over the head of his civilization in order to attempt to stop the flow of divine providence that accrues because of Israel's mitzvah observance. Where Esau tries to build a roof (a gag) with no holes in it, Israel dwells in buildings with holes in the roof (Sukkot) as a tikun for Esau's folly. Such was the crux of S.R. Hirsch's point.

Now most of this will be covered in another blog entry which will cover this subject in depth. But for now the following must be understood:

According to the Cosmic Clock in my essay Hold on to Your Seat, I wrote the following. The Second Temple corresponded with Shavuot (The Feast of Weeks). The final and third Temple will correspond with Sukkot(Tabernacles)when according to the nations of the world we dwell in those silly little booths when times get tough for no benefit in this world. The nations chastise this observance, for the benefit for this great mitzvah is not in this world. For this reason this mitzvah does not suit their puroposes which is to only build this world, not the world to come. They therefore kick the succah when they are forced by extreme weather to go inside. "Much better to dwell in a secure home with a real roof, than to engage in this mitzvah." As discussed on the Tamar Yonah show this happens at the 33rd level of purity more than any other level. Building this world is their program. Esau is their primary and end of days leader. At the 33rd level he is in charge.

My essay continued. Because of our sin of internecine causeless hatred, the divine presence could not come down into the 2nd Temple. The 420 years that it stood plus the 70 years that Yerushalayim was barren between the Temples add up to 490 years. There are 49 days between Pesach and Shavuot. Each decade of the Second Temple Period corresponded with one level of purity that we puriify ourselves during the 49 day period between Pesach and Shavuot. (Since the first 70 years corresponded with the seven levels of purity that we go through during Pesach, and the First Temple corresponded with Pesach, and it was destroyed because of our sins, all levels of purity that we were working on corresponding with Pesach took place when the Temple lied fallow for 70 years.) The remaining 42 levels of purity were completed over the course of the 420 years of the Second Temple's existence. Of course, at the end of this period it was destroyed because we did not merit a Shavuot, a marriage to the divine presence that would last forever. Our sin of course was Causeless hatred, a far cry from our spiritual state when we received the Torah. We would need to wait until the End of Days to experience that closeness with the Creator that we had in the Mishkan and in the First Temple. So here is the answer to question that you are all asking. From Pesach to Shavuot Israel is working on itself, rising to higher levels of purity each day of counting. During the Second Temple period each level was one decade long. While the 2nd Temple was primarily Israel's Temple for it was built to correspond to Shavuot, the second pilgrimage, the final Temple is Mankind's Temple built for Israel by G-d or by Israel to correspond to the third pilgrimage festival, Sukkot. Sukkot more than any other of Israel's festivals is a pilgrimage for Mankind for which Israel serves as the nation of priests of that pilgrimage. In short, while it took ten years for Israel to purify itself by rising one level of purity during the 70 fallow years and the 2nd temple period, to purify Mankind it takes ten times that amount, 100 years for each level of purity. And where do I get that 10:1 ratio. Well it's right there in Zecharia 8:23. There Zecharia says the following: Thus says HaShem, Head of the heavenly legions, In those days it will occur that ten men of all the different languages of the nations of the world will grab hold of the corner of the garment of every Jewish man saying let us go with you for we heard that G-d is with you. A direct end of days quote from Zecharia, that as we approach and arrive at the Sukkot period of world history, the ratio of ten righteous gentiles to every Jewish man will exist. The process of purification of every Jewish man to every righteous gentile has been at a ten to one ratio. Where each level of purity took ten years during the Counting of the Omer Temple, the 2nd Temple, in order to build the Third Temple, Israel has needed to purify Mankind at a clip of one level every hundred years. It has not been enough to purify ourselves. In a sense we went into exile to elevate Mankind, not just ourselves. 33 centuries after the Giving of the Torah we have reached a point where Mankind can no longer lead. Only Israel can lead Mankind into the rarefied realm beyond the 33rd level of purity where the purpose of serving G-d is for its own sake. 3300 years after Matan Torah Gog Bush became President of the Greatest nation in human history except for the ancient Israel of David and Solomon. As a 33rd degree free-mason, as all the 33rd degree free-masons that came before him, he swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States whose stated purpose is to build a prosperous Olam HaZeh for all Americans. At the expense of what eternal truths, though,is hard to enumerate. Sadly that great nation's history is riddled with lost tribal lands and corpses of its native peoples, in many cases the lost tribal lands of Indians that truly wanted peace with their great white brother in Washington DC. Here in the Holy Land there are many of us who do not intend to permit Gog son of Gog to sacrifice us on the altar of American prosperity, G-d forbid. May G-d bless our efforts.

Some final thoughts on this matter of a second cosmic clock which is inextricably linked to the first one. Think of the first cosmic clock that was introduced in "Hold on to your Seat" as Israel's journey through history. How was it built from heaven towards earth down during the period of Joshua, the Judges, and the First Temple, corresponding with G-d's infinite Chesed and the first Temple's correspondence to Avraham Avinu and Pesach? How was it built from earth towards heaven during the 2nd Temple period, corresponding with Israel's avodah in the absence of the full divine presence and the 2nd Temple's connection to Yitzchak Avinu and the counting of the Omer? How did it decay into seven cycles of destruction and rebuilding only to go into greater destruction in exile as described in the great rebukes in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Now we are in the cycle of our Resurrection first physically in the Land after 5705 (corresponding with Tu B'Av), through repentence which started after about 5720 (1960)(corres. with Rosh Chodesh Elul), through ingathering and continuous judgement which started after the First Persian Gulf War in 5750 and 5751 (corresponding with Rosh HaShana), through earth shaking events which instantaneously affected Mankind after the year 5760 (the Yom Kippur of the yovel cycle of redemption) and finally through now (the First year of Sukkot, the beginning of our full spiritual redemption). The other cosmic clock which details the purification of Mankind chronicles our effect upon the world through mitzvot of the Torah as we bring it towards rectification. Again, I will soon write a full fledged blog on this subject, for it cannot be understood without depth. A quick preview: Each century after the Torah was given should correspond directly with the sefirah (dimensional) description of that century. Our travel through history is a rectification of the seven by seven matrix of our two souls, our seven dimensional divine nefesh and our seven dimensional animal nefesh. Along the diagonal of the matrix, you will find the attributes of one of the great empires that subjugated us because of our sins. Chesed that is in chesed (that is lovingkindness of our animal soul that is a part of lovingkindness in our divins soul) corresponds with our Exodus from Egypt. We could not fall any further and still be redeemed. In the ninth century of our travel through time, because of our sins the Temple needed to be destroyed. So it was that the First Temple was destroyed in the 9th century after the giving of the Torah by the Babylonians at the level of strict justice (gevurah that is in gevurah). The Persians who represented tifferet took over where the Babylonians left off (to be discussed in greater depth). This happened rather quickly because the Babylonians could only lead the world to the level of gevurah that is is gevurah. The Greeks who represented Netzach could only lead the world to the 25th level of purity. There they were defeated by the Jews that most represented Hod (the Kohanim, the descendents of Aharon) at the level of netzach that is in netzach, the 25th level of purity on the 25th of Kislev. Finally we have Edom who can lead Mankind to the level of Hod that is in Hod but leaves the hod (glory) for Amalek and not for G-d. Therefore at this level, the 33rd level, Esau can be defeated by the descendents of Yosef or the scion of Yosef who is pure in Yesod (foundation). This is a survey and not meant to be understood by all. As I said, a blog needs to be written clarifying this subject.

It is worth noting the centurial events that occurred with each century after Matan Torah. As previously mentioned in the 9th century after Matan Torah the First Temple was destroyed at the level of strict justice, gevurah that is in gevurah. The rise of Persia was marked by the next century, tifferet that is in gevurah. The rise of Greece (Yavan) marked the century after that, the 11th century after Matan Torah (Netzach that is in Gevurah). Notice that Babel, Persia, and Greece respectively correspond with gevurah, tifferth and netzach of the animal soul that is in the gevurah of the divine soul. Only Greece could progress further than this. Because their culture involves an incorrect refinement of their divine soul which recognizes the eternity of intellectual ideas. Netzach is eternity. Yet since the Hod (glory) for this eternity goes to Man not to G-d, they fail at the level of netzach that is in netzach and need rectification there. The great rectifier of Greek culture was not a Greek, but one of the greatest Jews of all time. 25 centuries after Matan Torah (the 12th century of the common era), Rav Moses son of Maimon used Aristotelian logic to discern the Truths of the Torah in his Guide for the Perplexed. In the language of Greek logic, he laid out the correct postulates (his 13 articles of faith) and proved the tautalogies in the Torah using the Aristotelian system devoid of its pagan and athiestic assumptions. He literally cleansed Greece of its rubbish and polished what remained in service of the Torah. The 30th century was Yishmael's century. He has lost every major battle since the 1690s, for he can rise no higher that the 30th level of purity. (This must be discussed in depth to understand why Yishmael has a leadership role only until the 30th level of purity.) The 33rd century (1888-1988) was of course America's century, but America can take the world no further without destroying it. There are other one to one correspondences of the century after Matan Torah and the events of that century, but this must be continued later.

Shalom, shavua tov. Thank you as always for your insights.

For those who might not receive R'Winston's parsha sheet, this from Parshat Massei: "I have just gotten off the phone with someone who has told me, in the name of a certain Mekubel, that events will occur by the Shabbos of the parshah for which this is being written that will impact the entire world. Apparently certain signs are supposed to occur to indicate this, and have been quickly since last Lag B'Omer." (R'Winston says he wrote this parsha sheet on 17 Tammuz.)

This Shabbat is also Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av and not coincidentally the 60th anniversary of the destruction of Hiroshima by atom bomb delivered by America. (See http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45203)

33 to 50? Dov? If this is the 3300 year of Matan Torah (and 33rd level), does this mean that we ascend the remaining 17 levels in a period of years (either 17 or 170) once the 3rd beit hamikdash is built to get us to the 50th level by 6,000?

I forgot to mention that a full translation of the Targum Yonatan's commentary on the last places Moses sees at the end of his life is in the essay, "The Secret of the Vav in HaShem's name". Here is the same translation.

Of course, the Targum Yonatan on the last places that Moshe Rabbeinu sees before he dies has a different take on the situation. After Moshe sees the Yam Acharon (the last sea) which Rashi says to read Yom Acharon (the End of Days), Moshe focuses on the following. “(Hashem showed him) the Negev and the Kikar (plain) of the Valley of Yericho, the city of date palms as far as Tzoar.” Rashi interprets the Negev to be Chevron, for Moshe was looking toward the Negev and the first stop coming up from the Negev is Chevron. This is a reference that in the final generation, Israel will do repentance for the Sin of the Spies. The Kikar is the place where Rashi explained is where King Solomon forged the implements for the First Temple. The Jericho Plain is also the first place given to the Palestinian Authority unilaterally about two months ago on the Jahrzeit (anniversary of death) of Moshe Rabeinu. Tzoar, I have already explained. What is left is a curiosity which I used to think described Yericho until someone else made me aware of a Targum Yonatan on “the city of date palms”. Apparently, this city is a different place altogether. The Targum says as follows: “The king of the South (Ishmael) will link up with the king of the North (Gog of Edom) to terrorize the residents of the land. The Ammonites and the Moabites (the so-called Palestinians), the residents of the “Maishraw” (Gaza Strip?) that are causing distress to the masses to Yisrael and the exiles of the students of Eliyahu that are exiled from the Yericho Valley and the exiles of the students of Elisha that are exiled from “Kirvat Dekalya” by 200,000 men of their own brothers, the bnai’ Yisrael. And after the anguish of all the generations and the suffering and after Armolgos the wicked (Peres has the same gematriah) and a succession of battles with Gog at a time of tremendous “Tza’ar”, Michael the archangel will arise with bared arm to dissemble (the opposition). Let us hope and pray that the Likud referendum last Iyar has nullified the harshness of this decree.

Thanks for the update.

I've long since accepted that ultimately, everything is in hashem's hands, yet we still have our hishtadlut to do and hashem gave us a mouth to talk to him.

I'm still optimistic about not fasting this tisha b'av. Personally, I'm sick and tired or this whole tisha b'av 'routine' that has developed over the years and enough is enough. Sometimes you get the feeling that for most people it's convenient to have a once a year sit on the floor bawling out, but last year, when I went to the kotel around midnight, my two impressions were that I've never seen the area so empty on that night, and that I want a temple to work in for god, not just a wall with a plaza to hang out in. I wante to get rid of the my synagogue's kinot, but people insisted that we'll need them next year.

B'ezrat hashem, more people will be getting 'spiritual' as the clock counts down to the decree and more and more of us will start realizing that 'now's the time to start davening hard'.

The remaining 17 levels to the 50th level of purity are of a different quality than the first 33 levels. Once there is a Beit HaMikdash I do not know if the process speeds up or not. I think that these 17 levels can be understood by a deeper study of the last 17 years of Yakov Avinu's life. Remember that he lost 33 years by speaking about his very difficult life to Paroh without making a Kiddush HaShem. He was supposed to live to 180, but he only lived to 147. His last 17 years were in Mitzraim. Yet, Yosef peculiarly says that "Although you (his brothers)intended to harm me, G-d intended or (calculated your miscalculation) for good. It is as clear as this day to keep a great multitude alive." Could he have been speaking about the keeping the nation alive that was soon going to put their descendants into bitter servitude. Understanding the ultimate "Good" unlocks these last 17 levels. It is worth noting that although there are 17 levels above 33, there are only nine more campsites in the desert above the 33rd campsite until the last campsite. There is a Chazal that the 43rd campsite not mentioned is Luz, whose gematriah is 43. Luz is the mysterious city where nobody ever dies. It is our Shangra La, lehavdil. It is also the bone with which G-d resurrects the dead. What those nine centuries entail well into the 7th millenium is a question for someone else. Seeing beyond the veil into Olam Haba is not my department. I am interested in any answer that you may find, though. To discuss the world of perfection beyond the year 6000, one needs a special pair of glasses. One needs to understand what "free will" is like in a world without an evil inclination. In yemot HaMashiach the evil inclination still exists within the physical world, but it does not control the popular will. Truth will be popular. But with the Resurrection of the Dead, the evil inclination is completely defeated. Yet there is still a veil (a paroches) between the physical world and G-d.

Eventually we are living in the world of Yitzchak Avinu, a world where choices are black and white. In this world there is still a more refined evil inclination. Eventually we get beyond the paroches and witness a great battle between the Leviathan which represents the paroches and the Behemoth which represents the evil inclination. Study Akdamus to understand this 50th level of purity. The timeline for every nuance of this process is sweet food for thought in this difficult time.

As you know, according to the Leshem the Resurrection of the Dead must "begin" by 210 years before the year 6000. How that must proceed is open to debate. Rav Pinchus Winston might have more exact answers than I can give.

The students of Eliyahu think that the big battle is Yerushaliyim. The students of Elisha can see the yeshua in Gush Katif. Eliyahu heralds Mashiach ben David not Mashiach ben Yosef. M.b. Yosef comes with the Vav in Hashem's name. M. ben David comes with the final hey in his name. This is why in the Pesach seder when Eliyahu finally shows up, the third cup representing the Vav in HaShem's name has already been drunk.
