The Quiet Revolution Toward the Light of Redemption

Since the fall of the Dynasty of Shaul on Shaul HaMelekh St. in Tel Aviv on the 8th day of the Gaza War (8th of Kislev), the light of redemption has begun to shine.  Anything that begins to wrest us away from the avodah zarah of World Public Opinion and Popularity is a giant leap in the "right" direction back to the G-d of Israel and of Creation.  This will be the shortest post that I have ever written.  If this poll is correct, we have seen nothing yet.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/163838#.UOWIl-QUlLI

May HaShem bring Geulah B'Rachamim...but you first must put together your tik Aliyah at an Israeli Consulate or with an Aliyah shaliach near you (if you are not here).  As the rest of the world plunges into deeper darkness lead by the 11th Horn Dude, the light of Redemption will get brighter and brighter on Mt.Tzion.    Short post...more later.

UPDATE:  This must be noted.  It is in the comments too.  There will be a period of time where the nations of the world are being judged for all the pain and suffering that they have inflicted on us throughout history. Jews who live in the midst of the gentile nations will be affected during that period of time. That period of time might only last a few months or it might last two or three years. So the new light shining upon Tzion will also bring with it punishment upon the nations. Right now that punishment is being held back until the nations of the world come up against Yerushalayim. That will be the trigger...and we are almost there. If Bennett gains control of Shaul's choices and forces him to enforce policies which anger the nations, it will not take long for them to show up here, or at least to have an international conference in "the Great City of Rome" where fire and meteorites begin the period of time of judgement on the nations.

But first the gathering place north of Eretz Yisrael needs to come first in Syria.  When the nations of the world gather against each other in Syria, they will then decide, oh, now that we are all here .....

Do you have a mesorah for that? I was taught that only afterwards will the evil nonjews suffer, and when they start suffering, every jew will have plenty of power and wealth and no one will be able to harm in any way. I was taught by then, Moshiach will already be known to Jews and acknowledged by nonjews as the Jewish leader and king. The final war will be some time after that. However, shortly before Moshiach, there may arise R"L false prophets, leading astray many people and R"L causing terrible devastations in EY. We should not take for granted what we enjoy now, including the state of Israel, but -- whatever happens -- we have to do our work and recognize that Judaism blossomed even after the destruction of the Temple and the genocide (with primitive weapons) that the Talmud and lehavdil roman historians have told us about. We will recognize this false prophet because, like other false messiahs and like the real one, he will be accepted by plenty of nonjews, but it will be apparent that he and his family line has sometimes transgressed the Torah (which was the case also for shabtai tzvi, but it was not easy for people to immediately realize). The real Moshiach has perfect yichus, has never transgressed Torah and follows all chumrot according to all opinions, however he is going to be the king of all jews and will be accepted by everyone, including people at the 49th level of tumah, as it was for Moshe Rabeinu. Moshiach Ha Melech will be a greater leader than Moshe and of course we have the Torah, which had not yet been given in the previous redemption. In the final redemption no jew will be harmed. But we are still far from the final redemption and we don't know when it will be. We have be very careful and beware of bad decrees and we have to make sure our descendents remain jewish and follow in the path of our grandfathers whose grief we can't imagine, we are just a few generations at most from seeing the resurrection of dead. We have to be strong and strengthen each others, and in good time, Moshiach will be revealed.

G-d's Justice is perfect. He has already stated through the books of the prophets that the nations are going to pay for going overboard when they were Hashem's whip. Just as the people of Israel suffer because of the leaders they choose so will the people of the nations(including the Jews living there)when the punishment comes upon the nations.

Your answer Daniela is from Parshat Korach: BaMidbar 16:20 HaShem spoke to Moshe and Aharon saying: Separate yourselves from amidst this assembly (of Korach), and I will destroy them in an instant! Verse 23: HaShem spoke to Moshe saying: Speak to the assembly, saying, "Get yourselves up from all around the dwelling places of Korach, Dathan, and Aviram!" This was at a time in the Generation of the desert when the judgement was very exact, when HaShem separated out the wicked from everyone else to be judged. We still had to physically separate from them so that we would not be included in the judgement that came upon them.

It is a Kal veChomer (even the more so) that when HaShem sends punishment on the nations at the End of Days to not be in their midst amongst wicked neighbors, or for one Holy neighborhood to be in a city of wicked gentiles lest the punishment on the city overflow into the Jewish neighborhood. Eretz Yisrael will be an Ark at this time, and the judgments here will be more exact than in the places of our dispersion.

Yet, if you have asked your Sh'aylah Daniela to remain outside of EY, by all means, stay where you are. G-d bless.

Thank you Dov, may we all blessed, wherever we are. I understand, but the opposite issue exists, even Noach himself was a tzaddik only with respect to his generation, and not everyone can withstand what you point out, more exact scrutiny. Also we don't understand what happens, Lot and his family, who were not the most perfect tzaddikim, were spared, how can we reconcile this with righteous and holy people dying horrible death, sometimes because of disease. We don't understand.

The situation is very bad in all countries I am in touch with and I don't know what it will become like. You say a few months to 2-3 years -- the previous decree did not last long, and technology advanced a lot since the 1940s. Also even though it was a world war, there were countries which were not affected. I do not think this time there will be anywhere to escape to.

We should all try to improve a little bit and sweeten what is upon us.

Beginning of next shabbos haftarah:

Yechezkel 28:25
"25. So says the Lord God: When I gather in the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they have been scattered, and I have been sanctified through them in the eyes of the nations, then shall they dwell on their land that I gave to My servant, to Jacob.
26. And they shall dwell upon it securely, and they shall build houses and plant vineyards and dwell securely when I execute judgments against all those who plunder them from all around them, and they shall know that I am the Lord their God."

In my humble opinion this means that Hashem will first separate us/ save us from the goyish surroundings. What you think ?

Election Musings

While a huge icy snowstorm heads to Israel

1/06/2013 1:39 PM
Blogger Dov Bar-Leib said...

Thanks, Neshama. Steady but heavy downpours in Eretz Yisrael are usually a sign of bracha from Shamayim. The tenth or the eleventh of Shevat will be the beginning of month number 7 of the pregnancy that began on Tisha B'Av 5772. And before the elections (on the 11th of Shevat) after Rosh Chodesh Shevat we could live to see the Dawning of the Age of ...The Bucket (which can bring with it tremendous Heavenly bracha in Ruchniyut and Gashmiyut. For the goyim this bucket has a face called Aquarius. For us here in Eretz Yisrael, bracha does not require an intermediary so that the Bucket does not have a face here.

To the well intentioned person quoting Yechezkel, let me list for you how G-d is ingathering you here right now. Your Aliyah ticket is free along with three suitcases for every member of your family. Your first 7 months here are paid for by Sal Klitah (a fist full of money to make it here for 7 months) so that you can spend that time both in Ulpan and looking for work. Your cargo lift of your belongings is duty free for the first three lifts for about three years after you make Aliyah. If you are a Jew, you have immediate enfranchisement as a citizen. Now all you have to ask G-d to do is to send you a written invitation and to call for you a cab to the airport. Since the fall of the Bolshevick economy here in the 1980s, G-d has been ingathering the exiles in an even bigger way than when the Bolshevicks were running the show here for the first 40 years of the State. Consider yourself being ingathered right now, and don't expect HaShem to call for you the cab ride to the airport.

I forgot to mention the additional benefit of whatever money that you can get from Nefesh b'Nefesh in addition to the Sal Klitah that one gets from the Misrad HaKlitah. I also did not mention drastically reduced taxes on one's first automobile. The list goes on and on. G-d has made it amply easy to make Aliyah to here since about the year 5750, over 22 or 23 years ago. Yet, He has allowed Jews to take that final step on their own because being here is part of one's free will. No longer is it a months long perilous journey to get here from Lithuania as it was at the time of the students of the Vilna Gaon 200 years ago. From New York it is an eleven hour plane ride on the wings of an eagle. Someone can post here how long it takes to get here from Sydney, Australia on El Al.

Broker Tov. Rain when and where it is needed is a Bracha, but 100 K winds, blowing sideways, decreasing visibility, flooding train stations, ruining crops, et al. Might one venture a guess, a middle eastern style Sandy? What do we make of this? One guess is that the election will also be stormy. Are you safe out there on Kochav ?

I agree. There are banana groves that are flooded on the Left coast, but the bananas themselves are way above the surface of the flood water. I pray that the Jezreel Valley is making it through this deluge because that is where much of the corn, wheat, and barley are grown in Eretz Yisrael. I noticed that there was a major flood of a mall in Modi'in that also was under water last year too. They should have their mezuzot checked. It is definitely going to be the wettest week here in Israel since I made Aliyah 9 1/2 years ago. It is the last week in Tevet.

For 51 years it rained on the 5th of Tevet on the Yahrzeit of the 3rd Admor of Sadigura who passed away in 5721 whose last words were "Am Yisrael needs rain". He was a tremendous tzadik who loved Klal Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael. It did not rain this year on the 5th of Tevet, breaking the string of 51 years. Also Sharon's famous 2nd stroke was also on the 5th of Tevet in 5766. The 5th Admor of Sadigura, the grand nephew of the 3rd Admor, just passed away last week on the 19th of Tevet, and it is raining like it has never rained before here. The 5th Admor was a similar tzadik to his great uncle, and fought Sharon tooth and nail to stop the Disengagement. So the rain might be in part because of his great merit. Also since this is the 5th year of the final Shmittah cycle, the light of Geulah is beginning to shine. The Gashmiyut at this time is in the form of Geshem in a year which is supposed to be overflowing in both ruchniyut and gashmiyut.

We can talk about the water bucket for Shevat at a later time. Let us see what happens next.

i saw the photos of the guy canoeing through the banana groves..it was kind of cool. hh..and i thought also ..the bananas are up high and not in danger, although i suppose the very wet ground could unsettle a few of the trees. Praying also that the crops of the Jezreel Valley will be ok. I have felt these intense rains are very much a huge bracha , the intensity of it making me appreciate it all the more.

Bananas are one of the most unusual of fruits. The trees grow anew every year to very tall heights. Therefore they are not really trees at all. They are very very tall plants. It is why we say Borei Pri HaAdama before eating a banana. They do very well in tropical and semi-tropical climates. So rain is not a problem. Snow would be a problem of course, but the heavy snow!! predicted for midweek is on the Judean/ Shomron ridge from Hevron through Yerushalayim past Ariel, all the way to Tzfat. There is no snow predicted for the Coast where the banana groves are.

Gush Etzion, where Jews fought and lost their lives. What in the world are they doing? Now I understand why Akiva agreed with Feiglin about his comment that Israel needs to secure lands we supposedly govern, before claiming sovereignty over disputed land.

The house of Israel (Yechezkel 28:25) can refer to the all the tribes of Israel but most often is used to refer to the 10 northern tribes as many times scripture clearly distinguishes between the house of Yahuda and the house of Israel. The northern kingdom of Israel (10 tribes) was exiled nearly 2800 years ago lost their identity. HaShem is waking us up to who we are and we are coming out of our pagan religions and returning to Torah. The Hebraic restoration movement is part of this phenomom. Yahuda was to settle the land and prepare for the return of the rest of the exiles, the number of which will fill Greater Israel from Egypt to the Euphrates and surround Yahuda with peace! Daniel

It's pathetic, if you read Drudge this morning it seems like America is panicking and going insane ... over guns, over principles. Pravda says keep your guns. There's a run on buying guns and bullets. I never imagined that something like this could happen. In Israel it's looked upon differently, although the need is greater here because of personal danger. But, America. Senators and Congresspeople are going bananas (:-). A craziness is enveloping the once great nation. To me it means the Shechina has departed from the Jews in Chu'l and they are just not getting the message. They're more enthralled with a TV special being filmed on 13th Avenue in Boro Park, Brooklyn. Is it Emuna or being stuck in the 4/5ths of Mitzrayim (bein hamitzarim).

Jews who live in the rotting cocoon called Brooklyn, NY have no idea that America has a foundation of Freedoms that are guaranteed by individuals owning military style weapons to form state militias for the purpose of resisting tyranny. This is one of the principle mechanisms placed into the American Constitution to keep America a free nation. I am sure that the vast majority of Jews in New York, frum or not, have no appreciation for the ways in which America is collapsing based on this attempt by Obama to confiscate weapons by Executive Decree alone. When one lives in a liberal cocoon where no one ventures west of the Poconos to see how this plays out in Peoria or Lubbock, Texas, one cannot see civilization disintegrating around him. So they will remain in their guilded cage until it crumbles like sand in the American desert.

The snow was about 4 cms. here, just enough to build a snowman before it has basically melted by noon. The snowman remains for now. I think that this five day storm has finally concluded with much bracha. Thank G-d for both.

He has no need to hold his feelings. In his mind he has taken over the reigns of power in the US for as long as he wants to. He has no intention of leaving his post in 2016. What he does not know yet, is that the Divine plan likely has him losing power before the end of 2015, near the end of his 7th year in power. Dinesh DiSouza did not consult with the Book of Daniel to see if the 11th horn dude would even be around for most of 2016 for his 8th year. I am not sure at what point he will evolve into a domestic American tyrant. We just know that he will. It will likely be after he either confiscates guns or more likely after he makes it impossible to buy bullets for one's semi-automatic rifle. He will likely do this by Executive Order since the House of Reps. will not go along with it anyway. His executive orders go something like: "Let it be written...and let it be done." We will have to ask Yul Brenner for the exact quote.

So far our little revolution here has taken an interesting turn. Bennett has risen to at least 15 Mandates, but Bibi himself is absorbing seats from the Left and he is back up to 35 Mandates. So the shift is rightward, but whatever seats he is losing to Bennett now, he is gaining from the Left. So Shaul will continue to rule for a while even if his dynasty has disappeared. Will he go mad? He and his wife seem to have an intense dislike for Bennett now. I am waiting for the moment when Bennett is having lunch with Bibi, and Bibi then throws some sort of pointed or sharp object in his direction.... Hopefully HaShem brings this one on with kindness and allows Shaul to have a tikkun. We cannot forget that Shaul HaMelekh was an anointed of G-d, despite all of his failings.

Oh, that was great. :))

But I think OB becomes more ugly in increments, like Pharoah; first when they try to impeach him about the stupid gun ban (instead of letting police clean up the streets); next when some crazies try to fight it out with the guys that come for their guns; and/or when he has to back off from the gun ban, but reintroduces it again after the next tragic event (with even stiffer laws).

I read a snippy comment on a blog, I want to share, about OB's take on Netanyahu that was quite on target:

"Going from ‘floor worker’ to management is not easy. And going from management to owning a business is a real Back breaker. But can you imagine the hours of overtime and effort it takes Oby to successfully be taking down Israel AND the United States, at the same time? Poor guy. He needs another vacation followed by a few rounds of golf. This whole Caliphate thing is really wearing him down."

To be fair to Shaul, in the Haftarah of "Tomorrow is the New Moon" in chapter 20, Shaul hurled his spear at Yehonatan, his son, when he sees David's chair at the dinner table was empty for a second day in a row. It came after Shaul threatened to murder David the next time he saw him followed by Yehonatan asking why David should die. Earlier in chapter 19 after David had won a great battle against the Pelishtim, Shaul in one of his melancholy moods did throw a spear at David himself when David was playing his harp. So here we have one case where Shaul tried to kill David and a second case where he almost killed his son Yehonatan. Yehonatan is the potential Mashiach ben Ephraim (on his mother's side) in all this in Shmuel Aleph. The madness that comes with losing the dynasty because one is unfit to lead is a running theme until Shaul finally dies on Mt. Gilboa, along with his son Yehonatan. I pray that what is playing out now at the End of Days has a less tragic ending. I know that Dovid of Israel Rising seems to see, Naftali Bennett as Mashiach ben Ephraim in all this. I pray that he is right because ultimately Shaul wanted his son (the rei'ach of Mashiach ben Ephraim) to rule as king. Perhaps if Bennett plays that role, Shaul will have his tikkun without going crazy or without his craziness leading to bloodshed.

As stated before, Shaul lost his dynasty in Chapter 13. Now whenever Yonatan is mentioned as being the son of Sha'ul, the text of the Tanakh calls him Yonatan without an added Hey. Whenever the text refers to his love for David, the text calls him Yehonatan. Yet, there is one other time when he is called Yehonatan before he even meets David. We read in Chapter 14 that Shaul and 600 of his soldiers are hanging out in Migron when Yonatan sneaks out of camp to take on the Pelishtim garrison at Michmash. When he walks through the valley that today bears his name, Wadi Yonatan, he is still called Yonatan. Yet when he sets up a test with his armor bearer to attack an entire Pelishtim garrison just the two of them, the text of the Tanakh calls him Yehonatan for the first time. His words are telling: "Come let us cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised ones. PERHAPS HaShem will act on our behalf, FOR NOTHING PREVENTS HASHEM FROM SAVING, WHETHER THROUGH MANY OR THROUGH A FEW." It is when he is speaking this, that the Tanakh adds the extra Hey to his name for the first time.

more later.

Now that Barak and Netanyahu have destroyed the community of Migron and moved it to cramped quarters at the bottom of the same hill, there is now a Border Police base there on top of the hill called Migron with about 600 men. This is as far as Shaul can go now, and he has proven himself unfit for what will happen next. What is obvious to me, is that the next step is for a "Yehonatan" to arise who realizes that it matters not if it is little Israel taking on the entire Arab world with help from the US or taking on the entire world without American help. It matters not because "Perhaps HaShem will act on our behalf, and if He will, it matters not whether we do it alone or with American help". This is one of the roles of Mashiach ben Ephraim. With Yehonatan Pollard still wasting away in an American Gulag in his 28th year, the question comes can anyone else perform this role in his stead. Is Naftali Bennett that man? We will know very soon.

What is attributed to Bennett seems promising, but he has yet to show the stature of a world leader, but then neither did Dovid HaMelech, but he was much loved by Hashem. It was his son that achieved world prominence. Bennett is speaking at the Great Synagogue tonite and I hope to be there.

Question: Where is Netanyahu's other son? The one in the army? The older one? The one who 'criticised the Arabs'? Could he be 'in the wings'?

Likud has lashed out at Obama: "Vengeful OB interfering in elections" Americans arming for rebellion, esp impeachment:

Idaho: 'People can hardly walk they've got so much stuff'...
S Dakota: 'Unprecedented demand'...

The answer to your other question seems to be that Yehonatan Pollard is Mashiach ben Ephraim. So who is Naftali Bennett?? He is likely the Naftali who comes back from Mitzraim with the contract between Ya'akov and Esav showing the world that 1. Eretz Yisrael belongs to us and 2. Only Israel can lead Mankind into the Messianic Era. That is my opinion on who Naftali Bennett is. The key will be the rise of a Chushim ben Dan figure who will assist the new government when the Syrian War becomes a world war. For Dan is a lion who will leap forth from Bashan (the Golan Heights). This prophesy of Moshe has never to this day been fulfilled. It stands to be fulfilled shortly.

Well, I came away from the political presentations feeling strongly for Aryeh Eldad, Rabbi Lipman, and the Shas guy. NOT necessarily their parties. Yuri Edelstein actually spoke the best. Bennett was the most positive, with Rabbi Lipman next, I like what he said, but uncertain about Yesh Atid.

Not even interesting and even revolting were meretz and tanua with labor representing 'how it used to be.'

The star was obviously Bennett, and you could tell by all the photographers surrounding him entering and leaving. NO ONE ELSE had the attention of the photos like he did. When he spoke he had the right soft, warm, determined, thoughtful, little people charisma, with a sincere aura about him. Everyone was politicking, but Bennett was reaching the hearts of the people. The least political of the batch.

One thing, Shas should be in every govt. no one else cares for the Sephardim like Shas.

What I don't understand is after we vote for a (ruling) party, how govt/ministers are chosen. Peres gives the winning party time to choose who goes with him into the next govt, and this is where things (egos) get messed up. Instead of selecting on principles, something else happens.

I wanted to do one for Aryeh Deri and Moshe Gafni, but it occurred to me that the results would be skewed since most Chareidim who will be voting for these two parties have already made up their minds, and especially with the Ashkenazi Chareidim, they simply spend less time surfing the Internet. So a search including Deri, Yishai, or Gafni would have skewed results.

http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=%D7%A0%D7%A4%D7%AA%D7%9C%D7%99%20%D7%91%D7%A0%D7%98%2C%20%D7%91%D7%99%D7%91%D7%99%20%D7%A0%D7%AA%D7%A0%D7%99%D7%94%D7%95%2C%20%D7%A9%D7%9C%D7%99%20%D7%99%D7%97%D7%99%D7%9E%D7%95%D7%91%D7%99%D7%A5%2C%20%D7%99%D7%90%D7%99%D7%A8%20%D7%9C%D7%A4%D7%99%D7%93%2C%20%D7%A6%D7%99%D7%A4%D7%99%20%D7%9C%D7%91%D7%A0%D7%99&date=today%207-d&cmpt=q

What a long link, but it is worth seeing. You might have to refresh it once for the chart to show up correctly. Our Naftali is surely swift as a hind who delivers words of beauty (from Ya'akov's brachah in VeYechi). In the Info. Age when info. is instantaneous, the Hi Tech Guru has captured the imagination of the nation.

Notice the Google Trends chart is strictly in Hebrew. This is important because only Hebrew speakers would be using Google search in Hebrew. It therefore means almost 100% of the searches were likely done in Israel, except for a few Hebrew speakers in other countries. Dovid of Israel Rising told me that in previous elections, the Google Trends chart could be used to predict outcomes of elections, or at least who is going to be gaining substantially in the last few days before the vote.

What happened to the bar for Netanyahu?
When I click on any of them, the bars change and so do the results. What does that mean?

In fact, 100% of the data comes from Israel - and 100% of that comes from Tel Aviv. You can make the chart reveal these things if you poke around. The way I did it was, under the Limit To section, change Worldwide to Israel (find and click on it). There you will see a map of Israel with TA highlighted and if you mouse over it, it will say the search volume index is 100. For that matter, go to the map icon next to Regional Interest - and click on the list icon next to it - it will show that only Israel had input into the chart.

This tool could be even more interesting than we know.

May HaShem raise up the best leader for us until Mashiach comes.

Much of the thanks for the chart belongs to Dovid M. of the Israel Rising blog who works all day with Trends analysis and who showed me the Google Trends chart with Naftali Bennett and Shelly Y. on it. I added the other three variables, Ya'ir Lapid, Bibi Netanyahu, and Tzippi Livni. I also tried Aryeh Deri, but it occurred to me that Chareidim do not use the Internet very much so that any result with his name would be skewed against him. I also tried Michael Ben Ari, but he was bouncing off the bottom. I think after this past few days disagreements, Otzma will now likely get 3 seats after all. I will G-d willing talk about them later.

1. Ya'ir Lapid is now making hay on Google Trends. He has now solidified his position amongst centrists by declaring that there never will be peace treaty with the Arabs. He wishes that there could be a big tall wall between Israel and Arabs. (Good luck on that one. The one around Gaza has not kept out the missiles.) He also said that there is no reason even to talk about dividing Jerusalem, and the Arabs already know that flooding Israel with 5 million refugees is already a non-starter in any negotiations. He says in his own words that Migdal David is more important than Azrieli Towers. By these statements, he will likely draw more votes from Shelly Yucky and Tzippi Livni. Yeish Atid will definitely gain a few seats (2 or even 3) between now and Tuesday evening. Plus he represents a segment of the Ashkenazi Israeli populace that because of the pain and suffering of Jewish history needs representation. He is a son of that famous Shoah survivor that tried to destroy Torah in Israel. The son in that respect is not like his father. If he were, then Rabbi Dov Lipman would not be in his party. In this respect I know Rabbi Lipman. I spent many Shabbatot in Cincinnati, Ohio at his house while dating my wife. May G-d comfort those among us who are in so much pain, and right now have a difficult time believing in Him because of that pain. They truly need comfort too. I have no idea how HaShem will finally do that. The Ocean of Tears is immense.

As far as Bennett is concerned, he made a statement that he would destroy a Jewish home that is sitting on stolen Arab land. Immediately the attacks went up against him. But what everyone fails to realize is that there are no unauthorized yishuvim built on stolen Arab land. No bill of sale to any rightful Arab owner has yet to appear in any real court. There is no legitimate deeds that have shown up either. The point of dispute seems to be those instant land grants that King Hussein and maybe Abdullah before him gave to certain village Mukhtars in the 19 intervening years when Yesha was absorbed by Jordan. (Remember those years when Palestine did not exist after it was already established?) There should be a lively debate about whether those land grants which occurred with no kinyan should be recognized as private property especially since there was no development on or planned for on those vast pieces of real estate. In such cases if no owner can be found, then building can commence. If a decade later some European funded NGO claims that they have found an owner, then the Arab "owner" should and can be compensated if and only if he comes forward with a bonafide deed precisely describing the vast land tract that he supposedly owns. Because of this dispute, Otzma will likely get at least three seats. So all those votes for Otzma will now no longer be a waste. They will exceed the 2% threshold...most likely.

Finally there is Jeremy Gimpel, #14 on the BY list. They will literally destroy him for the thing that he said which is true: That the Golden Dome will eventually be caused to disappear. Perhaps the PC election committee will not like the words "blown up" even if Gimpel made it clear that he would not be the one lighting the fuse. So they will destroy him on that one, or at least they will try to disqualify him. Yet, precisely on the other point that he made, the Powers at Be will remain unfazed: that we will build churches for Xtians in Yemot HaMashiach. That definitely is a troubling statement to say the least. Interestingly enough we will likely build Knessiyot (gathering places) for righteous gentiles who cannot fit on the Temple Mount since the 3rd Temple will be far bigger than even Shlomo's Temple. Yet, in modern Hebrew, the word Knessiyot means churches. In no way will we be building those. In my mind that is the most troubling statement from this past weekend. But I am told that he said this over 1 1/2 years ago before a church group in the US. So just to unsteady us, they start playing the tape now with less than two days to go. And given the left wing propensity of the Judges here, they will destroy him on point number one (not point number 2). So for the thing that he said which was true, they will disqualify him, but for the more troubling statement about us building churches, he will get a pass. As Rav Kook zt'l said: We live in a world of lies which must be destroyed before the World of Truth will appear.

Before commenting, I will wait for the actual votes to be counted. I am not a big fan of exit polls. Exit polls don't include soldier votes or votes of Jews who live in Yesha. The only time Channel Two shows up here is to show how much they hate us. I am sorry to put it that way. So I will wait for the actual results.

Plus as stated above, Ya'ir Lapid was skyrocketing on Google Trends over the last four days through Sunday. But 18 or 19 seats? Who would have thunk. There are also 250,000 or 270,000 soldiers who voted absentee who are not even part of the exit polls. So we shall see. By the way, if the numbers are correct, then my good friend Rabbi Dov Lipman is now an MK in Yeish Atid. Who would have thunk? I think that there are five or six Shomer Shabbat Jews in Lapid's party. He is not his father. The problem is of course that it is not really clear what he really believes on security issues. On one hand he says that he would not show up to negotiations with Abbas with either a fig leaf or a gun. On the other hand he disses even taking negotiations seriously because the Palestinians don't want peace. Ya'ir Lapid is one confusing fellow. He wants perpetual negotiations that he himself says will never come to anything. Maybe he just wants to see to it that the world stays off our back while we take care of real issues like housing and the economy and integrating Chareidim.

Ok this is my final comment until tomorrow morning. I wrote this to a reader of this blog. She was shocked about Lapid coming in number two.

If you read the comments on my latest post, this was predicted by Google Trends over the weekend. I expected him to rise to 13 to 15 seats. But 18 or 19, that is hard to believe. I will wait for the votes to actually be counted. Then they will add the votes of the quarter of a million soldiers, and then we will know. But -----, he, Ya'ir Lapid, is not his father. Ya'ir Lapid is not a divisive man. He wants to include and to unify. And he does not want to give away the store in peace negotiations even if he realizes that we may have to talk to Abbas just to get the world off our back. He is the ultimate pragmatist. He is only dogmatic on unifying the Chareidi and the secular (even if the Chareidim don't want it). On all other issues, he is very pragmatic. There are five Shomer Shabbat Jews and 2 Rabbis in his party. Yes, I can't believe it either. But Ya'ir Lapid is not a monster. Shelly Yucky is a Communist and Tsippy Livni is the monster. Her hatred for Bennett for instance is palpable. Lapid is neither a Communist or a monster. He is an enigma though. So we shall see.

In short, Ya'ir does not hate G-d like his father Tommy. Yet, I have no idea how this will affect relations between secular moderates and the Chareidim. I have a difficult time seeing Lapid serve in the same government with Shas or UTJ, not because he hates them though. Lapid does not hate Chareidim. Yet, his plan for unity runs contrary to the Chareidi party platforms.

Wow, look at Google Trends now that the January 21st has now appeared in the result. On the last day of campaigning, Lapid's searches just exploded out of sight. Undecideds literally made up their minds within 24 hours of going to the polls.

http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=%D7%A0%D7%A4%D7%AA%D7%9C%D7%99%20%D7%91%D7%A0%D7%98%2C%20%D7%A0%D7%AA%D7%A0%D7%99%D7%94%D7%95%2C%20%D7%A9%D7%9C%D7%99%20%D7%99%D7%97%D7%99%D7%9E%D7%95%D7%91%D7%99%D7%A5%2C%20%D7%99%D7%90%D7%99%D7%A8%20%D7%9C%D7%A4%D7%99%D7%93%2C%20%D7%A6%D7%99%D7%A4%D7%99%20%D7%9C%D7%91%D7%A0%D7%99&date=today%207-d&cmpt=q

No way to have predicted this. no way. How is it that on the last day a whole bunch of undecideds started to make up their mind in one direction as if guided by G-d's hand?

If you recall, it was the 'undecideds' that cruised OB into office again! Plus this being a very large turnout, one that America has, I think, never seen!

Amazing. But I am not truly amazed by YA's rise; the people want true change. We shall see what that means as the year progresses. However, it seems that everyone really is happy with their results, except Netanyahu, and that is due to the large turnout.

Imagine what would happen when Moshiach arrives!

BTW At 10pm last evening, it was Muqata that called the numbers for Yesh Atid. He has a connection.

1/23/2013 11:10 AM
Blogger Dov Bar-Leib said...

G-d willing, I will write a new post on all this later today. But two quick points.

1. There are only two possible combinations for a government out of this chaos from yesterday. Both of them are lead by Netanyahu.
a) Likud 31 Yeish Atid 19 Bayit Yehudi 11 and Kadima 2 to bring the total up to 63. This would lead to a war against the Chareidi world who got 18 mandates. I doubt that Netanyahu wants a Civil War on his hands. So he will not choose this path.
b) Likud 31 Yeish Atid 19 Chareidi parties 18 and Bayit Yehudi 11 because without Bennett as a moderating force (believe it or not), Yeish Atid and The Chareidi parties will not sit in the same government together. I do believe that Lapid is ready for a compromise, but I am not sure that the Chareidi parties will reciprocate. Wait 90 hours until the end of Shabbat, and they may come around option b) because option a) would lead to draconian measures against the Chareidim.

There really are no other possible combinations where Netanyahu stays on as PM. He cannot include Labor in his government without Bayit Yehudi because then Labor + Yeish Atid will have 34 seats which is more than his 31. At that point they would demand a power sharing arrangement. Shelly Yucky is a Communist not just a Socialist. So neither Bibi or Shelly will agree on much at all.
The Left + Yeish Atid minus the 7 anti-Israel Arab seats adds up to 53. So they would have to add Shas to the government. Yea, fat chance. If Shas and Yeish Atid can't agree to sit in the same government with Netanyahu, then they won't sit in a government with the Communist and the fig leaf for peace Tsipi. So if a) or b) don't occur, there will be no government. So the question becomes can Yeish Atid and Shas/UTJ come to a compromise? Yes, a compromise. Sounds nice. But I think that the word p'sharah is the least used word in the Hebrew political vocabulary. But any miracle is possible.

1/23/2013 11:24 AM
Blogger Dov Bar-Leib said...

Point 2. Going into Shabbat, Yeish Atid had only 11 mandates. In the 24 hour period before the election at least 240,000 undecided voters (8 mandates) swung toward Yeish Atid in unison as if driven to do so by the Invisible Hand of G-d. Think about why G-d would do that.

By the way in order to set the record straight, one must repeat the following sentence 7 times to drill it into one's head (because the media here will not tell you this). Say 7 times: "Ya'ir Lapid is not a leftist. He is not his father Tommy. He does not want to destroy Torah from Israel." The Left is trying to make you think that he is one of them because they claim that he is going to stick it to the Chareidim. I am sorry, but they are dead wrong...as usual. They keep referring to him as a Leftist when he is not.

I like your "say 7 times" comment Dov. Actually i am quite pleased about Lapid, even though I of course did not vote for him. There is something refreshing about him..It's very interesting.

Actually what's also interesting is that the two mirrored factors between the US elections and our own (1)voting for "change", and 2)the country split almost evenly between right and left but just enough to tip the results) work in opposite ways as far as i can see. In America those factors occurred because of G-d's Protection lifting; in Israel, I believe these factors are for our Good -- the Hand of G-d protecting Am Yisrael.

Plus as will soon be realized, Yeish Atid's number one program is Achdut Yisrael, our version of E. Pluibus Unum without the Latin but in Hebrew. He is the ultimate unifyer, and it is precisely for that reason that he wants to integrate Chareidim into the population. We are not used to a unifying figures in Israeli politics. There is so much what Rav Lazer Brody calls "intramural hatred" of one form or another. Interestingly enough if one followed the Bennett campaign, he himself never responded to attacks against him with that hatred either. He shares that with Lapid. That is the newness of what is happening in this election. While Lapid for instance wants Chareidim to serve, he also wants to include Talmud studies as part of the mandatory curriculum in secular Jewish schools. He understands integration is a two way street. Contrast this with Obama, the most divisive President since the American Civil War.

The question of course will be now, will the Chareidi parties when they look at Lapid, will they see Ya'ir or will they see Tommy?? If there is going to be Achdut, we pray they see Ya'ir.

The korban tamid in Yerushalayim was never offered up in the morning until the sun had also arisen in Chevron. Why is that? because bain Adam laChaeiro lishma must always precede bein Adam laMakom lishma. Chevron, as its name would suggest, is the place of bein Adam l'Chaveiro lishma. So the Avot chose to live there because that came first. On occasions they visited Yerushalayim but never lived there. Only after we get rid of our intramural hatreds between each other can we ever hope to fully rebuilding Yerushalayim.

Yet, there is a sticky problem. The Erev Rav hates our guts. How Livni treated Bennett on that famous elevator ride is a case in point. He treated her like a gentleman, and she basically told him that she hated him. Since Achdut is a two way street, how does one include those who hate us into that Achdut?? The Zohar says that the Erev Rav is irredeemable. So we can't include them in the result of these elections since their treachery will never cease. I am not sure what we will have to do. Sefer Kol HaTor tells us the only solution, but if I repost that advice, Shabak will come and arrest me.

And how do you plan to carry on the "integration" upon people who do not wish to be integrated, given that some people consider the very essence of Judaism, not your "ahdut" or should I say, edinaja, and homogeneity, but its contrary? The sacred and the mundane, the man and the woman, the Levi and the Yisraeli, all are necessary but one is not the other. We do not want to mix with others, much less do we want Talmud to be studied without the necessary preparation and necessary respect. In addition, we are not interested in plastic and mass-produced ideas: we value deep and lively debate, even among (legitimate) different opinions. Shammai and Hillel disagreed even on gittin - and yet there is one Torah. They did not seek to impose upon each others, nor were they deluded that artificial "achdut" can be a solution: on the contrary, they kept track of the opinion according to which a get had been written, in order to keep separate those who hold differently. However they had absolutely no respect for the samaritans, sadducees and other groups that cut themselves off Klal Israel.

Your agenda is not my agenda, and you are free to promote it. There is freedom of speech in the democratic world and even reform jews, j4j etc are allowed to do their things. However, it should be done towards those who are aware of your approach and subscribe to it; I don't think it is erlich to try gaining followers by suggesting to uneducated and unaffiliated jews that this is how mainstream Judaism holds, nor by appealing to their deepest emotions and fears; and different positions, which are obviously legitimate since they're held and upheld by Gadolim unimaginably greater than all of us, should be awarded the same courtesy and basic respect. You have referred to "integration" aka assimilation for three times in the last few hours and last few posts. I don't want to get into a debate whether your position is legitimate, especially since there are many chachamim who have spoken their mind in public. I am pointing out that your deep belief in your opinion is no good reason for attempting to forcibly change the lifestyle, the mentality, the values in which others believe.

Well it was not really a discussion between the two on the issues. She simply verbally attacked him.

To Anonymous who asked about the erev rav. The erev rav are either gilgulim of the erev rav that joined up with Yisrael and have the souls of the original erev rav. There may be those who are even descended directly from them. Our sages say that at the end of days they will be the worst of the amaleikim. In other words, the worst of our enemies, as we have 3000 year proof of that. Now that the Jews have returned home, they are the ones who are trying their utmost to stop the coming of Moshiach. Do not believe that they or amaleik (Eisav, etc.) can or will do tshuva. T'shuva is for the Jews to do and that will hasten Moshiach's coming.
